The largest canine species in the world is the gray wolf. Gray wolves (Canis lupus) are 31 to 33 inches tall, more than 5 feet long, and can weigh anything up to 175 pounds. There are more than 30 recognized subspecies and they are native to Eurasia and North America, with the largest amongst them being found in Alaska, Canada, and Russia. Gray wolves have powerful bodies with a muscular neck and a strong jaw. Despite their name, the color of gray wolves can be variable. Although gray is the predominant color, black, white, and reddish colors are not uncommon. Gray wolves are incredibly skilled hunters and are capable of bringing down large prey when they work as a pack – including moose, deer, elk, and caribou. However, they are under constant threat by people who continue to hunt them, often in retaliation for livestock predation.

Tony the Tiger is the advertising cartoon anthropomorphic tiger mascot for Kellogg's Frosted Flakes (also known as Frosties) breakfast cereal, appearing on its packaging and advertising. Tony has also been the mascot for related cereals such as Tony's Cinnamon Krunchers and Tiger Power. Since Tony's debut in 1952, the character has spanned several generations and has become a breakfast cereal icon. Tony the Tiger, as well as other mascots featured in products targeted to children, has been the subject of controversy in several countries. A study published in the journal Obesity Reviews suggested familiar media character branding appeared to be "a powerful influence on children's preferences, choices and intake of less healthy foods." Tony and similar mascots have been banned from being featured in packaging and advertising in countries like Chile, Peru, Argentina, and Mexico.

Orcas also referred to as killer whales, are the largest of dolphins and one of the world's most powerful predators. They're immediately recognizable by their distinctive black-and-white coloring. Smart and social, orcas make a wide variety of communicative sounds, and each pod has distinctive noises that its members will recognize even at a distance. They use echolocation to communicate and hunt, making sounds that travel underwater until they encounter objects, then bounce back, revealing their location, size, and shape.

Penguin wings are paddle-like flippers used for swimming, not flying. Penguins have denser feathers than most other types of birds, with up to 70 feathers per square inch. These feathers are spaced closely and tufted down on the shafts to help keep the penguins warm.

Despite some pop culture references to adorable “koala bears”, this species is actually a marsupial, not a bear. Marsupials are mammals that have a pouch; think other Australian animals like kangaroos and wallabies. The misnomer can be traced back to early French settlers in Australia. Koalas are adapted to spend most of their life in trees – with large paws and sharp claws for quick climbing and two opposable thumbs on each front paw to grip branches.
